Yes We Cab!

In early December, over brunch, a group of us were talking about wine and Obama. The idea came up between three of us to have an Obama-themed wine to toast the inauguration with. We threw out a few names, but as soon as David said "Yes We...Cab?" we knew that was it. So a quick call to our winemaker friend, Brendan Eliason and another to artist friend J.B. Lowe and the ball was rolling. Fast-forward to Tuesday night, where we celebrated the Inauguration at Periscope Cellars with a huge party and many, many glasses of Yes We Cab!

We totally sold out of the wine (only 56 cases were produced) and the folks at the party were thrilled to be able to buy it- by the bottle or by the case- and have the labels autographed by the artist.

It was a really fun night, a really fun project, and I feel lucky to have been a part of it! We would really like to send a bottle to Obama's people, but we know that there is no way he would ever drink it, and it's quite possible that he'd never even see it.. But that's just the way things go, when you are President of the United States. Oh my!

2009, you're off to a pretty good start!
