all hallows
Nov. 1st, 2001 08:39 amhall-o-ween. wow.
i shunned responsibility to rock out on halloween- drew called me mid morning and invited me to the warfield to see tenacious d. it was quite a night. there was a flurry of notable costumes, a few of which i will now list, [yay lists!]
:: marge and homer
:: ghostbusters [who ran around the main floor when the ghostbusters theme played over the PA]
:: buckethead [i asked if he had the palms to go with the costume and he said "wha-?" doh.]
:: a raisin
:: a klingon
:: alex from a clockwork orange [who was carrying an axe, for some reason. i called him on it, saying that alex never carried an axe, to which he responded "alex? i dress like this everyday." : ) ]
:: brzrkr : )
:: duffman !! [who did, oddly enough, not arrive with marge and homer]
:: a scene from "the birds"
:: hunter s. thompsons ala fear & loathing [i shook his hand and he asked me for drugs, i told him i had some amyls for him in the trunk.]
:: an ear of corn
:: the captain and tenille [!! wow. i mean, wow.]
:: chris farley ala motivational speaker guy
:: mr peabody & sherman
:: thing 1 and thing 2
my costume, well. i don't really know. i pulled it all together under the nice little name "50's rockabilly schoolboy sailor." i had my cuff jeans, fluevogs, crisp white shirt, my dad's jacket from high school, and a sailor hat. & when i could stand it, i had an actual sailor shirt on. but not for very long. it wasn't anything sensational, but one guy wanted to know if i was "the girl on the cracker jack box" [umm...] and one gilligan wondered if i was his skipper. it was cute, to say the least.
so needless to say i didn't write a paper last night. um. so i guess i'd better hop to it now. monday, i matte and frame a print for the student art show. this should be fun. there's nothing i loathe more than cutting a matte- i usually manage to talk somebody in to doing it for me. but i suppose i should learn eventually.
